Reporting Options

•Confidential report to the SAPR Office by the Victim

•Available to military members, dependents (18+), and DoD Civilian Employees

•The sexual assault is NOT reported to Law Enforcement or Command

•Victim may receive medical care (including a SAFE medical exam), advocacy, counseling, and Special Victims Counsel (SVC)

•May choose to go Unrestricted at any time

•Victim may make a restricted report before or after an independent investigation is initiated

•Victim may anonymously enter subject information in the CATCH program

Reporting Options

•Confidential report to the SAPR Office by the Victim

•Available to military members, dependents (18+), and DoD Civilian Employees and contractors

•The sexual assault is reported to Law Enforcement or Command

•Victim may receive medical care (including a SAFE medical exam), advocacy, counseling, and Special Victims Counsel (SVC)

•Victim may request an Expedited Transfer & Protective Order

•Victim may anonymously enter subject information in the CATCH program if Law Enforcement is unaware of subject identity

Reporting Options

•Mandatory reporter is notified of a sexual assault by someone other than the victim (third-party report)

•Mandatory reporter will report the incident to the SARC, Commander (or equivalent), & Law Enforcement

•Victim has the option to opt out of the investigation

•Victim has the option to make a restricted report with the SAPR Office even though Command and Law Enforcement are notified

•SAPR Office will neither confirm nor deny whether or not the victim has a restricted report

Individuals who believe they have been retaliated against related to a report of sexual assault may report retaliation allegations including:

•Adult sexual assault victim who has previously made an Unrestricted Report

•Adult family member of the adult sexual assault victim

•Witness or Bystander

•SARC, SAPR Victim Advocate or Responder

CATCH A Serial Offender Program

CATCH A Serial Offender: The CATCH program gives people making a sexual assault report, where the name of the suspect is not known by law enforcement, an opportunity to anonymously submit suspect information to help the Department of Defense identify serial offenders. If there is a match the victim will be contacted by their SARC.
